Most dog owners don't use this trick for fleas, but did you know...
Stacy was at her wit's end.
Balancing her job at a busy law firm with caring for her two children and her beloved golden retriever,
Max, left her with little time for herself.
Lately, Max had been acting strangely, vomiting regularly and appearing listless. Stacy was deeply
worried.
The sight of Max retching again one evening prompted Stacy to take action. As she cleaned up the mess, she
noticed something alarming—Max's fur was infested with tiny, jumping insects. Fleas. Stacy's heart sank.
She realized Max must have been trying to rid himself of these pests by licking and grooming,
inadvertently swallowing the fleas and causing his distress.
"Those bugs", Stacy said "Had him crying in pain"
She spent the next few hours trying to pluck each and every bug off Max's raw skin but to no avail. "I
felt so bad for him. I'd never seen an animal suffer so badly" Stacy said.
She knew that if she didn't solve the problem quick that it could give poor Max a disease or spread the
infestation to the family's bed and couches. So she decided to look for solutions.
"I tried everything under the sun", Stacy said "I tried picking the bugs out, but they were too small. I
bought expensive flea drops, but that seemed to make his side effects worse. Last, I took him to a vet. It
did help, but days later they came back" .
Feeling defeated and with no way to keep her Max safe from fleas, Stacy felt hopeless.
But little did she know, help was right at her front door. Literally.
Their neighbor was at the front door asking for something. Though Stacy wasn't up for the visit, she let him
in anyway.
Not 5 minutes passed when he saw Max behind them. He was curled up in a ball and whimpering in pain and I told
him all about his fleas.
He said "Sorry, I shouldn't stay long" and ran out the door. "But then she heard a knock on the door minutes
later. I thought, "Oh no, he called animal control on me."
Her neighbor was back with this gray bottle in his hand. He walked inside, put water in the bottle, and
started spraying everything in sight. The dog bed, the couch, all the mattresses.
"Trust me. This bottle works like magic."
"Well," Stacy says, "it worked. The next day I expected to see Max suffering again. But something strange
happened. He wasn't. I checked his fur and didn't see fleas anywhere. I breathed a huge sigh of
relief."
Her daughter said "Wow. He's the happiest I've ever seen! What did you do?""I told her our
neighbor gave me
this gray bottle that said 'Flea and Tick Concentrate' on them. It kills bugs on contact, but it's people and
pet-friendly." That night, Stacy took Max for a walk. He wagged his tail the whole time.
"I couldn't believe it," she said. "Max is no longer in so much pain I even ordered a few
refills and sprayed
it on his bed and around the whole house to make sure they never came back."
